Knowledge and Skills Needed to Implement Energy Management Systems in Industry and Commercial Buildings

This multi-country analysis examines workforce programs for EnMS professionals in five of eleven GSEP countries: Australia, Japan, Republic of Korea, South Africa, and the United States. This report identifies relevant knowledge and skills for key personnel that can influence energy management decisions and identifies common professional development models such as awareness raising, continuing education, and professional credentialing programs. Noteworthy examples from additional GSEP countries, including Canada, are also included.

This fact sheet describes an internationally-vetted online toolbox that is currently being developed by the Energy Management Working Group (EMWG) of the Global Superior Energy Performance Partnership (GSEP), in partnership with the Institute for Industrial Productivity. The EnMS Practitioner’s Toolbox will contain a practical suite of proven and cost-effective tools, measures, and activities to improve energy efficiency through effective energy management.

The Energy Management Working Group (EMWG) of the Global Superior Energy Performance Partnership (GSEP) is creating a global Energy Performance Database (EPD) that will collect and organize energy performance data submitted by member countries. This fact sheet describes how you can contribute to this valuable tool that will allow participating countries to gain a more detailed understanding of the drivers and barriers to effective energy management system (EnMS) implementation through data sharing.
