The 3rd Sustainable Energy for All Forum, a landmark gathering celebrating the global sustainable energy movement, will take place in New York City, U.S.A., from 3–5 April 2017. The event, hosted by Sustainable Energy for All (SEforAll), will bring together more than 1,000 high-level representatives from government, business, civil society, and international organizations.

The Forum will be a marketplace to help broker new partnerships and ideas, spur investment, and drive action toward sustainable energy and realizing Sustainable Development Goal 7—ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all. SEforAll partners from across the globe will share their stories about how they are achieving results.

The Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) will be highlighted during the event, with the new Head of the CEM Secretariat, Christian Zinglersen, expected to speak about the CEM’s work helping expand global clean energy access. The CEM will also be featured at various side events, and partners in CEM’s Global Lighting Energy Access Partnership (Global LEAP)—including CLASP and the United Nations Foundation—will host an interactive discussion on emerging trends in off- and weak-grid appliance markets, progress to date, and future plans.

The theme of this year’s event is “Going Further, Faster–Together.” With this theme in mind, the Forum will examine recent data on progress, including the launch of the third edition of the Global Tracking Framework on the delivery of universal access to modern energy services, doubling the share of renewable energy, and doubling the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency by 2030.
