Finalists in the 2015-16 Global LEAP Awards Announced

Awards will recognize the world’s best off-grid televisions and fans, which are critical to global energy access efforts

The Clean Energy Ministerial has announced the finalists in the 2015–16 Global LEAP Awards, an international competition that identifies and promotes the world’s best, most energy-efficient off-grid appliances. This round of the Global LEAP Awards features competitions for televisions and fans that are designed for use with off-grid solar energy systems. Winners of the Global LEAP Awards will be announced on 1 June 2016 at the seventh Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM7) in San Francisco, California, USA.

Global Awards Program Recognizes Companies for Leadership in Energy Management

Cummins, LG Chem, and New Gold win inaugural Awards of Excellence in Energy Management

Thirty-five businesses in 20 countries have been selected for global recognition as part of the inaugural Energy Management Leadership Awards program sponsored by the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM). On June 2, 2016, three companies will receive top honors, the Award of Excellence in Energy Management, at the annual CEM meeting in San Francisco, California: Cummins Inc. (USA), LG Chem Ltd. (Republic of Korea), and New Gold Inc. (Canada). Another 32 companies will receive Energy Management Insight Awards for helping to build global insight on the benefits of energy management systems in industrial and commercial facilities.

Smart Grid Award Competition Open for Nominations

Prestigious international awards honor excellence in smart grids for reliable electricity

The International Smart Grid Action Network (ISGAN) is sponsoring its third annual Award of Excellence competition, with a focus this year on excellence in smart grids for reliable electricity. Projects nominated for the ISGAN competition are also eligible to win the second annual Best Smartgrid Project Award, presented by ISGAN’s private sector partner, the Global Smart Grid Federation (GSGF). These prestigious international awards will showcase leadership and innovation in smart grid projects around the world.

The EV City Casebook Wins a Low Carbon Champion Award

The EV City Casebook: 50 Big Ideas is one of the Low Carbon Champions for 2014–2015, as announced by the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP). The Casebook was a cooperative effort of the Clean Energy Ministerial’s Electric Vehicles Initiative (EVI), the International Energy Agency’s Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Implementing Agreement, and future city think tank Urban Foresight and was recognized as the Low Carbon Publication or Report of the Year.
