Clean Energy Ministerial Publication Wins Communication Award

The report summarizes key outcomes from the public-private roundtables convened during the CEM’s fourth annual ministerial meeting (CEM4), held in New Delhi in April 2013.

The Public-Private Roundtables at the Fourth Clean Energy Ministerial report has won an Award of Excellence in a technical communications competition sponsored by the Washington, DC chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (STC). Produced by the Clean Energy Ministerial, the report summarizes key outcomes from the public-private roundtables convened during the CEM’s fourth annual ministerial meeting (CEM4), held in New Delhi in April 2013.

Recognizing the critical role the private sector can play in accelerating the transition to a global clean energy economy, the Clean Energy Ministerial each year convenes roundtables to provide an opportunity for energy ministers and other high-level officials to engage in an open discussion with the private sector, nongovernmental organizations, and other experts on particularly topical clean energy issues. For CEM4, six topic areas were covered, including reducing soft costs for solar photovoltaics, enhancing energy management systems, financing renewables, increasing the deployment of clean vehicles, exploring viable business models for mini-grids, and advancing power markets in emerging economies.

The STC judges commended the CEM4 roundtables report for being “very well purposed for a diverse international audience of industry and governmental executives.” They also noted the appealing design, user-friendly format, and well-executed level-of-summary.

The report will now be entered in STC’s international-level competition, which honors best-in-class communications from around the world.

The Clean Energy Ministerial is a high-level global forum to share best practices and promote policies and programs that encourage and facilitate the transition to a global clean energy economy. www.cleanenergyministerial.org
