JK Lakshmi Cement Limited Global Energy Management Implementation Case Study

First cement plant in this cluster to achieve ISO 50001:2011, within one year of commissioning

This case study describes how the Durg Unit's objective to implement ISO 50001 was to achieve a higher level of energy efficiency ultimately leading to operational efficiencies. During implementation of various energy saving measures, the Durg Unit achieved total energy cost savings of 456,850 USD, with an investment of 423,530 USD and an average payback period of 11.2 months.

The World Bank’s Energy Sector Management Assistance Program and the Clean Energy Ministerial Collaborate on India’s National Grid Integration

Last week, the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP) at the World Bank announced $300,000 in co-funding to a project that is also funded by the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). USAID–India’s new clean energy project, Greening the Grid, aims to support the Government of India in managing the large-scale integration of renewable energy into the Indian power grid.

Cummins Inc. Global Energy Management Implementation Case Study

Cummins achieves 20% energy performance improvement through Corporate EnMS Enterprise

This case study describes how Cummins successfully implemented an EnMS through their Corporate Enterprise approach, which resulted in a combined energy performance improvement of 20.25 percent by 2015 from a 2010 baseline. Their total annual savings are equal to $3,541,365 and 352,434 MMBTU, or 39,740 metric tons of CO2e reduction.

A new report by the Clean Energy Ministerial’s Electric Vehicles Initiative (EVI) shows the substantial impact that electric vehicle (EV) deployment would have on India’s oil consumption and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Assessing and Accelerating Vehicle Deployment in India finds that the benefits of EVs in India are greater than expected when real-world driving conditions are taken into account.
