Overview

Industrial facilities and commercial buildings account for almost 30 percent and 9 percent of global energy end use, respectively. By changing how energy is managed, facilities can achieve significant energy efficiency, conserving 10 percent to 40 percent of energy.

The Global Superior Energy Performance Partnership (GSEP) is working to accelerate energy efficiency improvements throughout industrial facilities and large buildings and to significantly cut global energy use.

• Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and Efficient District Heating and Cooling (DHC) Working Group

GSEP is also a task group under the International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation (IPEEC).

Goal

GSEP will focus on two primary activities:

• Encourage industrial facilities and commercial buildings to pursue continuous improvements in energy efficiency
• Promote public-private partnerships for cooperation on specific technologies or in individual energy-intensive sectors
