The publication provides insights into some of the complications inherent in the private household and social cost-benefit “calculus” of interventions to promote new cooking technologies and practices. Both perspectives are analyzed to show whether households are likely to adopt such technologies on their own, and the authors highlight the extent of the divergence between private and overall societal net benefits.
