Biofuels: At What Cost? Government Support for Ethanol and Biodiesel in Selected OECD Countries

This paper provides an overview of the state of biofuel support policies in Australia, Canada, the European Union, Switzerland, and the United States. The synthesis it provides highlights the similarities and differences among support policies and some of the fiscal, economic and environmental consequences of those policies. The paper concludes with several recommendations for policymakers.
