Global Fuel Economy Initiative: 50by50 Prospects and Progress

This report assesses the prospects for reaching the Global Fuel Economy Initiative’s 50by50 goal in light of ongoing research and other recent developments and the progress being made in reaching that goal. The 50by50 goal set a target of improving the average fuel economy (in liter/100 kilometer terms) for the global light duty vehicle fleet by at least 50 per cent by 2050 (50by50).
