This report UNEP), describes how renewable energy and energy efficiency programs in developing countries contribute to narrowing the “2020 emissions gap”. It provides an analysis of developing countries’ overall renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives, as well as specific projects and case studies that detail their countries’ implementation of renewable energy and energy efficiency programs. Findings in this report reveal common challenges in measuring and reporting emissions reductions, including insufficient data and lack of a unified methodology.
