Call for Case Studies: GeoFuture Initiative
Call for Case Study Submissions for the GeoFuture Initiative
The CEM GeoFuture Initiative is launching a Case Study Series on next-generation geothermal, highlighting how emerging geothermal technologies can accelerate next-generation geothermal deployment by addressing key barriers related to financing, regulation, data, and project development.
Submissions should relate to projects involving next-generation geothermal technologies, for example:
- Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS)
- Closed-loop
- Superhot or deep geothermal
- Hybrid or emerging geothermal concepts
Projects may be at pilot, demonstration, or early commercial stages. Case studies will be developed using a consistent framework to capture key insights, including:
- Decision context (policy, financing, resource conditions)
- Technology pathways considered
- Cost, risk, and scalability considerations
- Lessons learned from implementation
- Implications for investment and deployment
Please submit a short expression of interest including: project name and location, technology type, project status, key points of interest, permission to showcase your case study in a published report and present at CEM17, and contact information for follow-up.
If you are interested in contributing a case study, please submit an expression of interest to geofuture@nlr.gov. Submissions will be accepted through 15 May, with up to 10 case studies selected for inclusion.
