CEM to Support UK Presidency COP26 Breakthrough Agenda

Launched at the World Leaders Summit at COP26, 40 world leaders commit to work together to make clean technologies and sustainable solutions the most affordable, accessible, and attractive option in sectors globally before 2030.1
CEM will support the agendas for all four launched sectors including:
- Power: Support through CEM’s Super-Efficiency Equipment and Deployment Initiative and CEM/ IEA TCP International Smart Grids Action Network2
- Road Transport: CEM’s Electric Vehicle Initiative3
- Steel: CEM’s Industrial Deep Decarbonization Initiative4
- Hydrogen: CEM’s Hydrogen Initiative5
To support the implementation of this work, the UK presidency have developed a global check-point process which includes an annual review of the State of the Transition Report. Ministers will come together to discuss this check-point process on the sidelines of CEM and MI annual meetings– with the meeting taking place September 2022 in the United States.
