Neil Veilleux

Neil Veilleux specializes in clean energy policy and finance. He works with senior policymakers and executives in the public and private sector across the globe. Recent clients include the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), International Energy Agency (IEA), United Nations Environment Programme, Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), Boston Redevelopment Authority, and others. Mr. Veilleux recently completed a comprehensive assessment for IRENA to assess ways to structure financial deals in order to best address the risks and barriers associated with renewable energy investment for developing countries. He is also an expert in renewable heating and cooling policies, and he currently serves as co-chair of the “investment standardization” working group for the Renewable Thermal Alliance, which is a public-private collaboration comprised of state agencies, finance, energy, agriculture companies and field experts to promote the growth of heating and cooling technologies such as heat pumps, solar thermal, and biomass heating. Prior to joining Cadmus, Mr. Veilleux worked with the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources, where he led research to develop the state’s solar renewable energy credit (SREC) policy. He has served as a Rappaport Public Policy Fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, a Fulbright scholar in Germany and a Renewable Energy Fellow for the Heinrich Böll Foundation.
