Building Blocks for Distributed PV Deployment, Part 1: Goals, Definitions and Compensation

10 May 2018

The Clean Energy Solutions Center, in partnership with USAID Distributed PV Program, hosted this webinar exploring the building blocks of establishing a distributed PV program, which include:

  1. Setting a distributed PV vision, goals, and roles and responsibilities
  2. Defining distributed generation
  3. Establishing a compensation mechanism
  4. Creating interconnection processes, standards, and codes
  5. Providing public policy support as needed.

This webinar was Part 1 in a two-part series. It explored building blocks 1, 2, and 3. A second webinar explored building blocks 4 and 5.

The purpose of the webinar series was to provide policymakers, utilities, and other energy practitioners in the developing world a foundational, concise guide and best practices for establishing a distributed PV program in their countries.

The USAID Distributed PV Program, implemented by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, aims to help USAID partner countries address barriers to safe, effective and accelerated DPV deployment. The presenters for this webinar were Alexandra Aznar and Naim Darghouth.

Webinar presentations were followed by an interactive question and answer session with the audience.
