Energy Star is a labelling program begun in the United States by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and expanded to Europe, which labels household appliances (white goods), computers and electronics, heating and cooling equipment, lighting and fans, and plumbing and building products with a label if it meets specific energy performance criteria.
