Utilities
Utilities can support renewable energy investments by building renewable energy projects, procuring renewable energy from independent power producers, providing renewable energy through green tariffs, offering net metering or net billing programs and enabling community solar projects. Utilities can support energy efficiency investments through rebates, demand response and other programs. The types of investments made and programs offered may vary depending on whether the utility is operating in a regulated or liberalized market.
