Guarantor/Insurer

A guarantor or insurer is an entity that provides a financial product to offtake specific risks, with the insured paying a premium for the financial guarantee. In some cases, development banksgovernments or others may reduce the cost of insurance or third-party guarantee and cover some of the risk to subsidize the product with the intent to encourage market development.
