Public investment and financing, the two main public investment and financing methods of renewable energy, consist of (1) public investment policies to provide financial support through grants, loans, guarantees and other financing methods to renewable energy development and (2) a bidding or auction process to solicit proposals to build additional renewable energy capacity.
