Lithium-Ion Batteries: Possible Material Demand Issues

This study estimates an upper bound on the quantity of lithium that could be required by using four promising lithium-ion battery chemistries. To evaluate the adequacy of future supply, the study compares total demand to estimates of production and reserves and the quantity that could be recovered by recycling.
