Mexico: Renewable Energy for Agriculture

This case study highlights Mexico’s project to identify and promote cost-effective applications of renewable energy in the agricultural sector. Objectives include providing non-electrified farmers with reliable electricity supply, increasing productivity and income of these farmers, and increasing penetration of renewable energies. Activities focused on eight project components — from institutional strengthening to vendor financing. Lessons learned are discussed.
