Principles of Regulating Clean Energy in the ECOWAS Region

This publication focuses on the regulatory aspects of integrating renewable energy sources into existing electricity markets. The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) member states are at different stages of introducing renewable policies. The publication is based on the lessons learned and experiences of regulators from Burkina Faso, Cape Verde Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Mali, Senegal, The Gambia and Togo. Regulators and experts examined issues in renewable energy and developed the principles and the case studies contained therein.
